Torbay Tigers Basketball Club
The Torbay Tigers Basketball Club founded in 1973, gained the national ‘Clubmark’ award in 2006 for the quality of their administration and organisation.
The Senior Mens team play in the Exeter & District League and have consistently recorded either the Division One League title and / or been crowned as the Open Cup winners for the last number of years.
The Tigers also run younger boys teams in the National League (South West Conference). Currently these are at Under 16 (secondary school Year 11) and Under 14 (Year 9).
All these squads train and play their fixtures at Churston Ferrers Grammar School in Galmpton, near Brixham.
The development section of the club is the YMCA section which is based at the South Devon YMCA in Clennon Valley, Paignton. They run sessions which mainly focus on beginners and improvers in the age range of 7 – 14 years.
Individual players regularly represent the South West of England in national and European tournaments and a number of them have progressed further and gained international status.
A general committee meets bi-monthly with a management board meeting regularly to oversee all aspects of the club.
